After Hours

If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go directly to your nearest Hospital Emergency Room.

If you have an urgent problem during normal business hours, please call the office and speak with a member of our clinical staff. Our Answering Service number is 205-930-4330 if you are calling after hours.

For all other urgent issues after normal business hours, you may contact our answering service by contacting our office. If you do have an urgent medical concern, the answering service will take your name and phone number and contact the on-call physician, who will return your call as soon as possible. Once you page the on call physician, please stay by the phone and keep the line clear.

Routine calls such as refills, lab results, and referrals should ONLY be handled during regular business hours. We also ask that you not contact the on-call physician for non-urgent calls such as colds, sinus infections, etc.

The on call physician will not phone in any controlled substances. This must be handled by your PCP during regular business hours.

If you have a non-urgent issue and the physician is paged you may be subject to a $25 charge for after-hour doctor consultations. This fee is not covered by insurance and you will be responsible for payment. Also, abuse of the on-call system for non-urgent matters may result in termination from our Practice.
